One of our advisers asked a client recently “in one word, starting with F describe what your financial situation would be like if you completely lost the ability to earn a living?” Their response was “Devastated”. To which the adviser replied “starting with F?”. To which the client responded tentatively “fevastated?” Advising is tricky.

Interest rates update - March 2016

Interest rates have remained pretty steady this week, with small reductions here and there to bring them into line with other lenders. Borrowers with a LVR of 80% or better can get between 4.15% and 4.39% over 1 year (still with the exception being HSBC with 3.95% over 18 months for their Premier customers), while the 2 year rate is 4.39% pretty much across the board.
